Cyclists shouldn’t have to wear a helmet. Cycling is not an inherently dangerous act; driving is. I don’t see the relevance of this quote anyway.

It’s relevant because it’s the first time a study’s actually shown what most people just assume anyway (though there’s always been some weird rhetoric about how helmets are less-safe, but whatevs). Refusing to admit that cycling can be dangerous seems a bit silly; few things are inherently dangerous — but that doesn’t mean in the real world you’re given a pass on injuries. Set yourself up for success by reducing potential risks.
