Toronto prisoner at large after switcheroo in College Park courtroom
Police say they are searching for a man believed to be dangerous after he walked free from a Toronto courthouse Thursday by posing as a prisoner who was set to be released.
Jacob Allen Mann, 24, was in custody in College Park court facing charges including forcible confinement and assault.
He and another prisoner, whose charges had been dismissed, were in the prisoner’s box. Mann stood up when the other man’s name was called, said Const. Pad Brookes of the Toronto police.
“He stood up and then he walked out,” said Brookes. “It sounds so simple, doesn’t it?”
